1. What items are suitable for donation?

A: You can donate cars, motorcycles, motor homes, recreation vehicles, boats, shop equipment, garden tractors, or other pieces of equipment suitable for auction.

2. What geographical areas does the program cover?

A: At this time, we cover the Campbell River & District.

3. How does the donation process work?

A: You can reach us at www.rotarydonateacar.org and complete the online donation form and we will contact you; or you can  telephone us directly at 250-923-9413 and one of our customer service representatives will help you make the arrangements for the pick-up or delivery of your donation.

4. Is there anything I must have in order to make a donation?

A: To donate a vehicle of any sort you must have the Owner's Certificate of Insurance and Vehicle License showing the V.I.N.(Vehicle Identification Number). If this document is lost, you may obtain a duplicate from ICBC. You must sign a document that says you are authorized to donate the vehicle and that it is free from any liens.

5. Is my vehicle worth donating?

A: Call our friendly member 250-923-9413 and they will be pleased to give you advice.

6. What happens after I donate my vehicle?

A: If your vehicle is to go to auction, you must deliver it to the auction house, or arrange for cartage, either independently or with our assistance. If your vehicle is to go to the `recycle program`, we will arrange for pick up. In both instances you must have the vehicle registration and V.I.N.

7. May I direct the proceeds of my donation to Rotary Polio Eradication Project?

A: Should you wish to so designate, our White Rock Millennium Charitable Society would direct the proceeds to the Polio Plus Funds to help eradicate polio worldwide.

8. How soon may I expect my receipt?

A: Within 4-6 weeks after your donation has been sold.

9. Who issues my receipt and how much will it be for?

A: The charitable arm of the White Rock Millennium Rotary Club is the White Rock Millennium Charitable Society. They will issue the tax receipt. Proceeds will go to Rotary approved projects and charitable organizations. The tax receipt will be equal to the price received for your vehicle. Should you require towing for your vehicle, the cost will be deducted from your tax receipt.

10. What should I do if I think I have an item for donation but not a vehicle?

A: In a very few words, you can trust Rotary. Rotary has an unblemished record of service and has earned the trust of millions, both locally and throughout the world.

12. What should I do now?

A: Either contact us via the website donation form or telephone us at 250-923-9413 and one of our friendly Rotary Club representatives will be pleased to discuss your donation with you. You will be invited to deliver your donation to the auction site or we will arrange the pick up.

After your donation is received, it will be:

A) Sold at public auction. Because the auctions are held bi-weekly, you will receive your tax receipt in 4 to 6 weeks. Its that simple.

B) Entered into the recycle program.
